The band start their latest tour this week with Norwich on Wednesday, Nottingham on Thursday then i’ll be shooting the Fibbers show on Friday! You can see my photos from their April Fibbers gig here.

If used my image will be the one on the giant merchandise posters that are offered for sale on the tour! I’m pretty excited about the possibility of that, even if not chosen it was a pleasure to work with the band and great experience!

Galtres is in 6th year now and i’m wondering why I didn’t bother with any of the previous!

The ArtsBarge Project is “a local community group planning to provide a floating cultural centre on the River Ouse, adjacent to North Street Gardens, in York, UK. The Barge itself will incorporate flexible performance and exhibition spaces for non-mainstream theatre, music and visual arts.” They’re contribution to Galtres this year was massive, the variety offered was difficult to timetable and their spontaneity means i’ll no doubt have missed some photographic goodness, but i’m very happy to have been a part of the madness and look forward to supporting them in the future! Check out their website here and their myspace here for information on future activities.

Saturdays headliners The Lightning Seeds and Miles & Erica from The Wonder Stuff were excellent and entertaining even with the omission of a certain football related anthem, I guess they didn’t want to cut Baldiel & Skinner in on the bounty?!

This festival had something for every demographic and generation. But, the best bit of Galtres 2010 was by far the local talent, the bands, the entertainers and the local produce were of a very high standard throughout, impromptu performances were in abundance and the fine selection of beer, cider and wine made everything all the more enjoyable!
