3 Days - 280km - 4453m
A route loosely planned on Strava to search for accessible gravel. Departing from our home of York we headed north through the moors, following their western edge and descending into Osmotherly for dinner, camping on the banks of the Cod Beck Reservoir.
Our second day took us across the void between the moors and the dales, flat but quiet, this was more a day of utility than sights, we finished with a climb up into the north east of the dales where the weather closed in and we sought camp aside the road.
Day three brought the early treat of discovering our proximity to the Tan Hill Inn, it’s campsite would’ve been welcomed the night before… Although unable to offer us a proper breakfast (book in advance) they provided warm drinks and a selection of toast / cereals.
We proceeded south through the dales to Ilkley where we caught our train home.
